Dear SB BR Fans:
We have all heard the saying, “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes and it will change.” Today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot was proof, in spades.
The first two flights could not have been better: sunny, with a wind that was relatively calm and un-varying in direction, but then the intensity increased several notches, then it rained (a rain delay was called), then the sun came out but the wind kept up, but then relatively calm conditions returned, and finally an intense wind from the north made itself known for the last three flights. Calm returned as we took down the target holders and cleaned up. Try to predict the wind – then wait five minutes.
There were 30 matches logged, only one in irons, and 29 in scopes.
We welcomed one new shooter, Stan Holland, and one returning shooter, Kelsey Beck, to the match today. Hopefully their schedules will allow them to spend more Monday’s at the range with their friends.
As always, many thanks to all who helped with the many tasks necessary to put on a successful event. And many thanks as well to those who chose to challenge the fickle conditions from the firing line. You are all truly appreciated.
