Dear Fans of .22LR 50yd BR Fun Shoots;
Hot weather (95 degF at match time, thermometer courtesy of Tom Spriggs) and mostly sunny skies greeted the participants in today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot. And as usual, our Friend the Wind was present just to keep things interesting.
The wind was as challenging as I can remember. In my humble opinion, the scores logged should not have been this high. Congratulations to the shooters.
Forty-six matches were logged, four with irons, 42 with scopes. This is the largest attendance this year, and the second largest of all 137 matches in this series. The May 24, 2015, match saw 47 scores logged. Again, congratulations to the shooters.
As a matter of interest, at that match Jack Mease finished 1st in the Scope class with a 400-35X, Tom Spriggs was second at 400-33X, and Ron Valentine 3rd at 400-30X. Bruce Campbell was 1st in Irons with 398-33X, Tom Spriggs was second with 397-28X.
