Dear Fans of Late August Hot Temperatures and All Others:
The temperature at match time read 94 degF in the shade. No, this is not a reprint of a late July report, it is the report of today’s late August .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot. Hot.
Skies were sunny and the wind was blowing from the north all afternoon. Intensities varied from almost calm to 12 mph (my guess), but in the opinion of your Match Director (yours truly), varying intensities can be read easier than varying directions.
Thirty-five matches were logged, two with irons and 33 with scopes.
This is match number 140 since this series began back in Aug 2011. Average attendance through the years has been 30, four with irons, 26 with scopes. Congratulations to all who have tested their skill on the firing line.
Many well deserved thanks are offered to all helpers, shooters, and supplier of produce. You make match directing a breeze (not to be confused with Our Friend the Wind).
We will be shooting on Labor Day, Monday Sept 4. Seems like a perfect way to end the holiday. A good time will definitely be had by all.
