Mid-Range Challenge Results – 09.01.19

September 1, 2019

Dear Mid-Range + [1,000 yds] Shooters, and Friends:

The final Mid-Range Challenge match this year was shot at 1,000 yards rather than the 600 yards for the previous eight. The final match in 2018 was also shot at 1,000. This qualifies as a tradition, so the final Mid-Range Challenge match in future years will be contested at this distance.

Twenty-six scores were logged today in two matches. The three shooters new to this match are: Ron Besso, Kara Lutz, and Brian Meredeth; and one returning shooter after a long absence: Andrew Zimmerman. We hope to see them on the firing line in 2020 for the 600 yd and 1,000 yd matches. Also we had spectators today. Hopefully they were entertained and will be shooting with us next season.

As the competitors know, and the other readers of these reports can surmise, there is considerable extra effort in setting up and taking down the benches for the 1,000 yd match. It is true that many hands make light work – so many thanks to those many hands who helped today.

The 2019 Mid-Range Challenge season has successfully concluded, 260 scores have been entered into the Permanent Record. I am confident that a good time was had by all (at least most of the time). The 2020 season will begin in mid to late April. Watch your email for details.
