.22LR 50yd BR Results – 09.09.19

Dear .22LR 50yd BR Competitors:

The temp at match time for last week’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest match registered 96 degF. Today’s match time temp was a very pleasant 76 degF. Luckily, the wind both weeks was the same: swirling, variable in direction, and variable in velocity. The Velocimeters are definitely proving their worth under these conditions.

Thirty-four scores, five with irons, 29 with scopes, were logged in today’s contest. This brings the total for the year to 95 and 510 respectively, and for the series from inception to 818 and 5,003. Congratulations to all participants past and present.

It should be noted that Brighton Gould, Richard Bird’s grandson, scored his first 200 today shooting his Ruger 10/22 off of his new rest, a gift from Dallas Baker. Nice going. You are a welcome addition to our firing line.

As always, thanks to the helpers and the shooters. The matches would not be the same without you.

Only three to go this year. For all who have shown interest in the past, and expressed curiosity in the present, now is the time to join in. We start setting up at about 2:30 pm with relay 1 starting at 3:00 pm. But participants are welcome up until 5:30 or so (work and school have a way of cutting into range time). Spectators are always welcome.
