“It’s a game that can be played, but can’t be won.”
Dear Mid-Rangers, Friends, Fans, and Foes:
It was a cold and dismal morning when we arrived at the range this morning for the second Mid-Range Challenge of 2020. As the day wore on, temperatures improved, and the skies turned from overcast to partly cloudy. Mirage and wind flags conspired to give the competitors contradictory information, especially as the morning warmed up. Still, it was a wonderful day to test one’s skill (and luck) against conditions in the company of friends and like-minded individuals.
Seventeen scores were logged in the first match, twelve in the second; a good turnout.
Four new shooters joined us on the firing line, Cody Brien (Texas), McKenzie Hede (Colorado), Garrett Hays (Wyoming), and Carlos Sotomayer (Wyoming), and four returned for their first match of the season, Keegan Dentici (Nebraska), Tony Cross (Wyoming), Tyler Hede (Wyoming), and Larry Dolence (Wyoming).
Thanks are owed and given to all who helped with set-up (special thanks here to those who came out early), take down, pit work, eggs, etc. Thanks are also offered to the shooters. A good (but cold) time was definitely had by all. Results follow. Ties are listed by last name.
The next Mid-Range match will be held Sunday May 24. Mark your calendars.
Charlie Piette, Sec Treas
