Mid-Range Challenge Results – 06.06.20

Dear Mid-Range Challengers and All Others:

Strong winds coming down canyon made for interesting conditions at today’s Mid-Range Challenge, the fourth of ten scheduled this season. Rain started near the end of the first match soaking the targets, the pit crew, and those on the firing line. For the first time in my five-year tenure as Match Director, I called the match because of conditions. Despite conditions, scores were high.

We had one new shooter, Joaquin Barrera (Rock Springs), and seven shooters returning for their first matches of the year John Bear (Gillette), Jady Parkhurst (Gillette), Larron Dolence (Lander & Taos), Kim Lutz (Lander), Ed Newell (Lander & Rock Springs), Pat Surline (Rock Springs), and Bob Trebelcock (Lander). Hopefully we will see them all on the firing line for the remaining six 600yd matches.

Many thanks for all helpers, especially the early set-up crew, you are truly appreciated.

Three additional items:

1] Those who paid but did not get to shoot will have their fees credited for their next match.

2] The target backers need to be replaced before the June 21 match. Ideas, materials, and volunteers will be needed. Watch your email for the announcement of a work party.

3] Mark your calendars for the Sunday June 21st match. Watch your email for details.
