Dear Friends, Summer Mid-Rangers, and Countrymen (lend me your ears):
In the midst of a two week heat wave, we had a brief respite at this morning’s Mid-Range Challenge with temps in the 70’s, but our Friend the Wind was present to assure that a challenging (but fun) time would be had by all. And it was.
One new shooter joined us, Wanda Koppenhafer, fielding a new 6.5CR rifle. As she gets the feel for the firearm, we will be expecting great things. And we had spectators, Summer and Chad Cassady, and Al Bundy. All are welcome.
Twenty-four scores were logged in two matches bringing the total for the year to 167 shot by 44 unique individuals (yes, some are certainly more unique than others).
Many thanks to all helpers. These 600yd matches require more effort for set-up and take-down. You are all truly appreciated.
There are only three matches to go in this series this season. The next one will be held Sunday August 2. Set-up starts at 0800. Be aware that the set-up crew has priority in squadding.
Charlie Piette, Match Director
