Dear LVSA Members and Other Fans of SB BR Shooting:
Tuesday June 30th is my wife’s birthday (the number will remain a secret). I figured a perfect gift for her would be Team Charlie shooting a 400 – 40X in today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot. Unfortunately, as the scores below show, that was not to be. Good thing the stores are open tomorrow.
Still, it was a good day at the range. Thirty-eight matches were recorded, five in irons and 33 in scopes, under mostly sunny skies with temps in the low 90’s and, as usual, an arbitrary and capricious wind (she is our friend, but you have to believe).
We had one shooter returning from last year, Cindy Farris, and our fan from California, Bruce Keefer, was back to enjoy today’s match. Both were welcomed. It should be noted that Bruce and wife Shirley are taking the opportunity to visit their daughter and son-in-law (Cindy and Mark Farris) and other Lander friends in the down time between matches.
Match Day: Things to Do 1: set up target holders, set wind flags, provide hydration, schedule the flights, spot for shooters, set, retrieve, and score targets, record scores, collect brass, sweep the floor, collect and store target holders and wind flags, etc. Many thanks to all who helped in these and other aspects of running the match.
Match Day: Things to Do 2: shoot the match. Many thanks to all who spent time on the firing line. I trust that a good time was had by all.

Pause to remember Lander swim coach Bruce Gresly who passed away early Sunday morning. He was a good man.
