Dear Fans of Accurate Weather Forecasts:
In these days of ubiquitous internet service, smart phones, and real time weather forecasts, one would think that the information provided would be accurate. Not necessarily so.
As I left for the range today (~1300), Weather Underground was forecasting winds at 14mph at match time increasing to 18mph by 1800. They were half right. Those of us who shoot later in the match saw varying winds but with much less intensity than 18mph. Just goes to show, you never can tell.
It was hot, however, about 90 degrees, and still we logged 33 matches (one in irons, 32 in scopes) in today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot, slightly above our season average.
Many thanks are offered to all who helped with any aspect of the match – you are truly appreciated. And of course many thanks are offered to all who tested their skills and equipment on the firing line against a challenging wind (especially the early shooters).
With this match, this series is 2/3 complete. But the final seven matches are open to all shooters, young, and old, boys and girls alike. Come on out. A good time will definitely be had by all.
