.22LR 50yd BR Results – 07.27.20

Dear .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Shooters, and Everyone Else:

American Target saves the day!  After last week’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest match, I realized that we did not have enough A-27 targets to run a full match today.

I called American Target to order 1,000, and was told another larger order for the A-27’s had recently been processed and that they were at the printers.

Luckily for us, they were able to ship 230 and the match was able to go on. I like dealing with these people.

Today’s match, number 14 of the 23 that will be held this season (weather permitting), saw 39 scores logged, four with irons, 30 with scopes, and 5 against the Green Monster.

We had one competitor from San Diego joining us, Gilman Bishop, and one returning shooter from year’s past, Larry Crismon. Gilman is Bob Trebelcock’s son-in-law. Larry is one of the early adapters. In his last appearance, July 1, 2019, Gilman shot a 400-27X and a 397-29X with Bob T’s 541.  Bob’s last match was July 17, 2017, where he logged a 393-21 with his Sako. It was great to see both of you on the firing line today.

The conditions were deceivingly difficult. The flags were flipping from red to green at a moment’s notice, the velocimeters varied in intensity from zero to off scale. No 400’s were logged, those who scored 200 know how to Kentucky.

Thanks as always to helpers and shooters. We’ll see how much we learned today when we return next Monday, August 3.

And mark your calendars for the Sunday, August 2, Mid-Range Challenge. Good times will be had by all.
