The LVSA offers an Basic Rifle Marksmanship class for adults (18 and older) beginning the first Thursday evening in January if we have five students.
Classes run from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the indoor range, located at 775 Garfield St.
Cost is $30.00, and includes instruction, a text book, all neccessary equipment, and all targets and ammunition needed.
The class is primarily for target shooting, but includes sections aimed at hunting.? We cover shooting from the prone, sitting, kneeling, and standing positions, as well as sighting-in your rifle from a bench.
For those who complete the class we have a Saturday session at the outdoor range (weather permitting) when you can bring your own hunting rifle and ammunition to sight-in and practice what you learned during the class.
For more information, or to pre-register, contact the club’s Chief Instructor.
Can you shoot .380 and .9mm at the indoor range??
Michael– nope, you can’t shoot anything except .22 LR and air rifles at the indoor range. Due to the proximity of neighbors and the desire of the LVSA to have a good relationship with the them, we are required to keep sound levels acceptable. So only .22 and air rifles. This information is also posted in the indoor range itself.
