Dear Labor Day Celebrants:
Moderate temperatures (mid 70’s) and hazy clouds greeted the competitors for today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot.
The Wind was not our friend today. Intensities varied from mild to 15mph (my estimate), with directional changes added to the mix just to make things interesting. These conditions challenged even the most patient shooter.
Which is more important, knowing when to shoot or knowing when not to shoot? That is the question.
Thirty-eight matches were logged, only one with irons, 36 with scopes, and one DNF. This equals our average participation for the 2017 season.
We welcomed one shooter, Fred Forton, who was last seen on our firing line back in 2013. Hopefully he will not wait four more years to shoot with us again (thanks owed to Arne for bringing Fred along with him).
Thanks to all who helped and all who took the opportunity to challenge today’s wind. You are truly appreciated.
Only three matches remain in 2017. Make plans to reserve your Monday afternoons to shoot. A good time will be had by all.
