Dear LVSA Members:
Hard to believe Sept is one-third over given today’s 90 degree temperature at match time. Skies were sunny, and our Friend the Wind was present as always. It seemed like we were dealing with varying directions and intensities all match – often during the same 15 minute flight.
Forty matches were logged today, two with irons, 38 with scopes.
We welcomed one new shooter today, Johnny Kerr, a recent relocatee from Alaska. Hopefully he will be able to join us for the last two matches of the season.
Thanks as always to the helpers, shooters, produce provider, and fans of the .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot series.
Let me offer a helpful hint: the stock fore-end stop present on many of the front rests seen on our firing line is intended to provide a definite positioning point for the rifle. It is not intended as a balancing point for the barrel. Don’t ask me how I know.
