.22LR 50yd BR Results – 06.15.20

A schedule update: the Basic Pistol Class range day will be held on Sat June 20 at the outdoor pistol range from 0900 – approximately 1300.

Dear LVSA Members and Friends:

I would not be so bold as to say that the outdoor smallbore range (aka the outdoor pistol range) was an island of tranquility in a sea of atmospheric turbulence, but as we arrived at today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest match, we were all expecting much more challenging winds than we experienced. It wasn’t so much that the winds were not varying in intensity or direction (because they were), but they were readable. Perhaps all we learned in the seven previous matches finally stuck. Or maybe we were just lucky.

Thirty-seven matches were logged today, three with irons, 28 with scopes, and six in our new USBR class (25 bulls, one shot per bull, max score possible 250-25X; a real challenge).

We welcomed back two long time participants, George Kerst and Jack Mease. Hopefully they will once again become regulars.

Thanks are offered to all who helped in the many tasks that it takes to run a match. You are truly appreciated. The shooters too. It was definitely a challenging match, but a good time was has by all.

The next match in this series will be held as scheduled on Mon June 22. This will be match #200 in this series. More statistics will be presented in next week’s report.

And mark your calendars for Sunday June 21 for the next Mid-Range Challenge.

Charlie Piette, Match Director
