Dear LVSA Members & Others Who Enjoy Challenging Wind Conditions:
Two things to remember:
1. We do live in the shadow of the WIND River Range;
2. We all know that the WIND is our friend, but with friends like these …
Despite the 30 knot wind, mostly overcast skies, temps in the mid 40’s, and brief snow fall in the later flights, today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot saw 24 matches, two in Irons, 20 in Scopes, and two not scored. Those who shot today truly earned the sobriquet “Stout Fella (or Gal).”
The overall scores were lower than the first two matches (only one 200 was scored – congrats, Larry), but some amazingly small groups were shot. Credits were earned for Wind Doping 301 (not quite graduate level given the wind’s consistency, but an education none the less).
Thanks as always to all who helped in all aspects of the match, and thanks to all who braved the cold and conditions to compete. A good (but cold) time was had by all.
