Treasurer’s repost by Piette: as of Nov 30, there was $29,024 available in checking, $1,196 savings. Membership stood at 251.
Shooting Committee:
December events:
Cowboy Action every second Sat throughout the year.
Open adult shooting at the indoor range Tues evenings at 7:00pm.
Schuetzen matches Saturdays at 7:00pm.
3P Gallery match Sat Dec 13.
.22LR 100yd BR match Sat Dec 20.
Range Committee:
Dan Thomas reported that the work to expand the 600Y/1000Y pit would probably be prohibitively expensive (“Tens of thousands of dollars”). Also, conditions are not favorable for heavy equipment to work on slope at this time of year.
Gravel was added to north and east of the pistol shed. The excess was added to the path from the rifle shed to the 100 yard line.
Junior Club
Cain reported that the line is nearly full. She is impressed with the youth’s dedication. The 4-H program will start in January.
Old Business
1] We do not have a cost yet for the expansion of the rifle shed.
2] Terry Hubenka reported that 15 shooters partook in the Muzzle Loader Turkey Shoot. Most were locals, one was from Casper. The weather was pleasant. Twenty-six turkeys were awarded with each shooter taking home at least one [post meeting note: Terry gave Piette $100 residual funds to be held in the LVSA account for next year’s event.]
3] Marla Lemm led the Raffle Rifle discussion. Move by Molyneux, second by Moore to select a Remington 700 SPS in .300 WSM; passed by voice vote. Lemm said a $40 is available on this rifle. Piette will submit the paperwork.
4] Piette reported that 25 cases of .22LR match ammo is expected within two weeks. We have commitments for essentially all of it [post meeting note: the shipment was received on Monday Dec 8].
5] The key-card lock on the door at the indoor range was discussed. Move by Piette, second by Thomas to replace it with a conventional lock keyed the same as the outside door and dead bolt; passed by a voice vote.
6] The indoor range backing material was delivered by Campbell and Piette. A work party will not be needed to effect the replacement. Sebesta will contact several skilled and dedicated members to remove the old and install the new backing.
7] The Winter Fair was discussed. Apparently the decision has not yet been made to hold the field house portion of the Fair. If it is to be held, Piette will again contact the school superintendent per the District’s SOP for permission to display our raffle rifle.
New Business
1] Move by Piette, second by Gallinger to hold a New Owners’ Night orientation and range session on Friday Dec 26 at 7:00pm; passed by a voice vote.
2] Piette will investigate and submit the LVSA report to the NRA.
3] The Federal Form 990e has been submitted for 2013. The 2014 form will be submitted in January.
4] The January Show & Tell will be the “Best Shooting Related Christmas Gift Ever.” Gifts given to oneself are of course eligible.
5] Deadline for the Winter Newsletter is Dec 25 (email entries to Sebesta or Piette). The newsletter mailing will include the 2015 Range schedule.
6] Thomas suggested that the Club be mindful of any ADA requirements when addressing handicap access to our facilities.
Next meeting Wed Jan 7, 2015, 7:30pm followed by a “Best Shooting Related Christmas Gift Ever” Show & Tell.
Send your suggestions for future S & T’s to Sebesta or Piette
Adjourned at 8:20pm, with many interesting pocket knives shown: old, new, spring assist, different blade types.
