Dear SB Bench Rest Fans and All Other LVSA Members:
The solar pendulum is finally swinging in favor of daylight as the vernal equinox moves across the Wind River Basin this weekend. And the LVSA is if nothing else attuned with these cycles of nature.
We .22LR 100yd Winter Bench Rest shooters celebrated this event by staging our fifth and final match in this series this season. I’ll have final season stats in a later email.
Twenty-five matches were logged, five with irons and twenty with scopes.
The weather was great, the skies were sunny, the temps were moderate, and the wind was relatively calm – but did provide a few interesting moments. All in all, as has been the case all season, a good time was has by all.
My thanks as Match Director go to all who helped with all aspects of set-up, targets, scoring, clean-up, etc. You make my job easy. My thanks also to all who spent their time on the firing line. You make my job a pleasure.
These are challenging matches: 50yd targets at 100yds in the cold, in the wind, and into the sun. All who took part are to be congratulated. Hopefully the skills that were honed during these events will become evident in the upcoming spring and summer matches.
