WYOMING RIFLE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016
MATCH REPORT
Lander valley hosted the two day event June 11 & 12 with competitors from CO, ND, SD and WY. The four rifle divisions drew 73 guns. The weather conditions were very good with the exception of the 15 to 30 minute lightning, thunder, and 35 MPH winds that arrived mid-afternoon causing a short delay, something that should be expected at the National matches in July at the Whittington Center.
David Bonner, Aurora, CO earned the WYOMING CHAMPION trophy in small bore, high-power and small bore hunting rifle. Clint Habeck, Fort Pierre, SD is WYOMING CHAMPION in high-power hunting rifle. Taking hi-lady was Geri Snyder, Littleton, CO and the winning junior is Ryan Habeck, Ft Pierre.
Ten of Lander’s junior shooters set targets during the hi-power matches. Their hustle paid them well as a thank you from the shooters. Special thank you to Ron Kamp, Dan Thomas and Ron Reemts for furnishing ATV’s for running out to reset HP critters. Thank you juniors and thank you shooters for making this happen and speeding up the relays.
Each rifle division fired a 2 X 40 program. One place for each four in a class.

David Bonner takes the 4 Gun award for the 7th time in 8 years with a 241/320 score. A beautiful metal Dakota Territory plaque was presented to him and furnished by Kelly Landis owner of Landis Machine as the Wyoming entry in the overall Dakota Territory/Quad State Silhouette Champion.
