Dear Friends and Fans of .22LR 50yd BR Shooting:
The first of this year’s 24 scheduled .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Matches is history. The operative word this afternoon would be WIND. And it was not necessarily a friend of the shooters. But it was varying in intensity (mostly high) and direction on a frequent and unpredictable basis.
Thirty-two matches were logged with 29 scores recorded (two with irons, 27 with scopes, and three DNF’s). As match director, I was very pleased with the turnout.
We welcomed three new shooters: Terry Dierks, Steve Thornton, and Bob Trebelcock. They certainly received their baptism by fire (aka wind) in this match. Hopefully they will become regulars. While we always have some wind, it is not usually this interesting.
I would like to thank all who helped with any and all aspects of the match. Many hands make light work. And thanks as well to all who braved the challenging conditions to take their places on the firing line and get that first point on the curve of this year’s scores.
