Dear Friends of .22LR BR and Other Interested LVSA Members:
The April 24, 2017, .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot is in the books, and once again our friend the wind made its presence known: directionally constant but varying in intensity during the first half of the match, varying in both direction and intensity during the last half. Interesting as always.
This was the 124th match since this series started back in August, 2011. Very few have been contested in wind-free conditions, and even those had some wind. Remember, the wind is our friend.
The encouraging news is that the ever increasing average scores over the years show that we are:
1. Mastering the wind,
2. Accommodating the wind,
3. Becoming less intimidated by the wind,
4. Other,
5. All of the above.
Remember, watch the flags, listen to the propellers, and adjust accordingly. The 10’s and X’s are sure to follow.
Thirty- six matches were logged today, three in Irons, and 32 in scopes, and one target shot as a test.
One new shooter joined us, Helen Nichols. Helen has been doing spotting service for Byrl over the past few seasons. We are pleased that she is trying her hand behind the trigger.
