.22LR 50yd BR Results – 07.22.19

Dear Smallbore Bench Rest Shooters et al:

Raging winds, torrential rains, lightning and thunder conspired to cause a one hour delay to the start of today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Match. Soon conditions cleared, and twenty-three scores were eventually logged: two with irons, 20 with scopes, and one DNF.

The wind was tricky as usual. But flags, a “windicator,” and timing (mainly knowing when not to shoot) kept the scores on average for the year (year’s average 394-26X, today’s average 394-27X).

Flags need to be supplemented so more “windicators” are on order. I am excited.

Many thanks to all who shot and all who helped. LindaJo gets special mention for discovering a snake in the target shed. Young Brighton Gould, Richard Bird’s grandson, gets special mention for a new single target personal best of 197-13X.

Next match: Monday July 29. Plan to be there. You will not be disappointed.
