.22LR 50yd BR Results – 08.19.19

Dear .22LR 50yd BR Competitors and Friends:

The first two relays in today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest match saw as challenging wind conditions as we’ve experienced all year. Not only was the velocity varying wildly, but the direction was changing 180 degrees north to south and east to west with regularity. There were numerous opportunities to practice shooting into the dreaded head wind.

Luckily conditions improved as the match progressed, but as we all know, Our Friend the Wind will do its best to challenge those on the firing line – especially now that we have five velocimeters helping to keep us wise to the wind’s capricious and arbitrary nature.

Twenty-eight scores were logged today, six with irons and 22 with scopes, slightly below the year’s average but respectable given the heat (92 deg at match time) and the windy conditions in town in the early afternoon.

My thanks as Match Director to all helpers and shooters. I am confident when I say that a good time was had by all.

Only six matches to go in this series this season. Mark your calendars and plan to attend. Our next match is Mon Aug 26. Of course, spectators are always welcome.
