LVSA RIFLE SILHOUETTE

April 19 Easter Saturday is not the best day to start the silhouette season. Two traveling shooters joined 3 locals to get the events underway. The weather was just grand—bright, sunny and calm, temperatures reached into the upper 60’s before the activities were completed. The club 40 shot format was in place for each rifle division.

The smallbore hunter class rifles were the 1st to take the line. Ronald Kamp, Daniel outdistanced the field by posting 27 for the win. Tony Cross, Lander was 1st master/unclassified @16 shooting his 1st approved match. Anthony Fuller, Wheatland lead AA @ 20.

Secondly the standard smallbore rifles battled the metal critters. Sebesta pulled out a 28 for the win. Kamp’s 22 took 1st AAA. Fuller again topped the AA’s with 16.

After a short rest the high power targets were set. Kamp got the win with 19 over Sebesta’s 9. Dan Thomas, Lander fired a practice match with a heavy weight 7-08 and toppled 10.

The next silhouette match day is May 18 with the high power rifles first up. Saturday the 17th is the annual 100 shot, high power offhand, match at 100 yards with any sights and caliber restricted to .32 max. All safe shooters are welcome. Full programs are on lvsa.info or rjsebesta@yahoo.com.
