Dear LVSA Members and Long Range SB Shooters:
Given the weather forecast, we were expecting challenging conditions this morning for the first of this year’s five .22LR 100yd Bench Rest Fun Shoots, but we were pleasantly surprised by overcast skies, moderate temperatures, and essentially no wind.
Thirteen matches were scored, 12 with scopes, and one with irons (OK LindaJo!). Scores for the most part were very high. Nice shooting, guys & gals.
It appears obvious from the scores that the shooting lane occupied by Team Russ was experiencing locally heavy winds, and that occupied by Team Charlie was experiencing Katrina like winds. For some reason, these conditions did not present themselves when the shooters sharing those two benches (Ron and Tony respectively) were at the line. I cannot explain these scores any other way (that’s my story …).
