MAY RIFLE SILHOUETTE AT LVSA

May 18th was a calm, pleasant morning start the day with the high power rifles on the line. Three men battled the metal targets that in places were somewhat hidden by the new growth of weeds. The white targets seemed too hid well in the green and bright sun. Anthony Fuller, Wheatland started slow on the close targets but got dialed in on the 385 meter turkeys and 500 meter rams toppling 6 & 7 respectively. His 19 for 40 was match winner. Fuller shoots a Rem 700 in .260 with a Weaver T series scope. Sebesta’s 12 was good for the AA class win. Kenny Collins, Wheatland, tried HP for the 1st time and posted 7 using factory 7-08 ammo. He plans to reload and make his new Savage deadly.

For small bore rifle 5 elected to make the course of fire a 60 shot event, while they still enjoyed the calm, bright conditions. Roger Sebesta, Lander posted a 35 for the win. Collins’s 33 for the AA class award. Tony Cross, Lander knocked down 26 for class A honors.

Then as the shooters were taking the line with the small bore hunting rifles, the wind suddenly come on the range with gust reaching over 30 MPH. Sebesta put 26 into the dirt for the win. Collins had 25 off the stands to top AA class. Cross’s 18 took class A . Collins was the only shooter to run a 5 in a row; doing so on chickens in standard and again on pigs in hunting rifle.

Thank you each and all for the assistance in setting up and taking down the range.

Our next event will be June 15 at 9:30AM start with small bore rifles. All safe shooters welcome.
