Dear Warm Weather .22LR 50yd BR Fans:
Sunny skies and temps in the low 80’s welcomed participants to today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot. Our friend the Wind was of course present, but her aspect today was relatively mild and at 90 degrees to the firing lines (a good wind). Still, there were interesting twists and swirls, and in the later flights, a dreaded head/tail wind challenged the competitors.
Forty matches were logged, six in irons, 34 in scopes. We had two equipment failures in scopes (Bob Hede’s 10-22 after one target, and Tom Cox after two shots), and one voluntary withdrawal in irons (Nancy York). The final tally had five scores recorded in irons and 32 (with one partial) in scopes.
Scores were good, but there were only two 400’s, one in irons, one in scopes. Congrats to Tom Spriggs and Jack Mease.
My thanks to all who helped with any and all aspects of the match. My thanks too, to all who came out on this glorious Wyoming day to test their skills and enjoy the company of their fellow shooters. A good time was had by all.
