Dear Friends, Fans, and Foes of .22LR 50yd BR:
The rain was falling in force 15 minutes before match time. The skies were threatening, and there seemed to be a good chance that today’s .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoot would be cancelled. Discouraging words about the Match Weather Prognosticator’s forecast were being bantered about freely.
BUT by match time, the rain had stopped, and over the next three hours, the sun actually appeared. Our friend the wind was present, at times her presence was hardly noticed, but through most of the match, she blew in steadily from the south.
There were 36 matches logged, five in irons and 31 in scopes.
All in all, conditions were great and the scores reflected it. There were seven 400’s recorded and 23, 200’s. The totals lined out such that there were only two logical divisions in scopes (usually there are three). There were numerous ties. It was a good day at the range. And a good time was had by all.
We welcomed one new shooter, Brad Gibb, and one returning shooter, Mark Farris, to today’s meet. Hopefully their schedules will allow them to compete with us on a regular basis.
