.22LR 100yd Winter BR Results – 01.23.16

Dear LVSA Fans of .22LR 100yd Winter Bench Rest Shooting:

It was 10 degF and overcast when I left my house for the range this morning to set up for the third of this season’s five .22LR 100yd Winter Bench Rest Fun Shoot.

By match time, the temp was up to 14, the sky was still overcast, and our friend the wind was only a minor presence (but still something to take into account with frequent 180 degree switches from east to west then back again). By the end of the match, the sun was out and the temp was up to 36 degF; no change in the wind. All in all, perfect winter weather to spend several hours at the range.

Seventeen matches were recorded, two with irons and 15 with scopes.

We had thee shooters joining us for the first time today: Rob Dolence (from Rock Springs), John Shade, and his son William. Rob is Larry Dolence’s brother, John has been shooting in the 50yd matches, and his son (age 12) is one of our 4-H shooters.

We also had two shooters returning after an absence: Kelsey Beck, and Kent Schmidlin.

Hopefully Their schedules will allow for their participation in future matches.

My thanks to all who helped with set up, take down, clean up, scoring, targets, etc. Matches run well when many are involved.

Thanks of course to all who joined us on the firing line. It was a good match.

Match Director
