Dear Friends and Fans of Winter SB Bench Rest Shooting:
WIND !
For those of us there, nothing else need be said; for those many who anxiously await these reports and the results of these matches, I don’t have the words.
Still, on an otherwise beautiful Wyoming February day (sunny, temps in the low to mid 40’s) 29 matches were scored, four in irons, 25 in scopes – a new record for the .22LR 100yd Winter Bench Rest Fun Shoot series eclipsing the old record of 23 set back on Mar 22, 2014.
Today we welcomed two new shooters to these matches: Kyle Carper (one of the stars of our Junior club), and Jack Mease (a regular in the 50yd shoots). Also, returning for the first time this season: Bob Hede and Bruce Berg (both regulars in the 50yd shoots). And Rob Dolence was up from Rock Springs to join his brother and nephew for the second time.
Hopefully all will find time in their schedules for the Mar 19 match, and be able to join us for the .22LR 50yd Bench Rest Fun Shoots that start on Monday April 18.
My thanks to all who helped with the many aspects today’s event: set-up, take-down, targets, scoring, flags, clean-up, etc. And many thanks to all who danced with the wind from the firing line. Hard to believe on days like today, but the wind is our friend, or so I’m told.
