Dear LVSA Members and Fans of .22LR 100yd BR Shooting:
What a perfect day for the 2014-2015 season’s final .22LT 100yd Bench Rest Winter Fun Shoot ! The temp at match time was in the mid 40’s. The sun was shinning brightly, and once it rose over the east rim of the canyon, it warmed us to “tee shirt weather.” The wind, while generally light, was fickle, especially during the later flights, but we have all seen worse.
Eighteen matches were recorded, two with irons and 16 with scopes. The enthusiasm was so great that we were able to call the first flight to the line at 0930 (wasn’t it a good feeling to be putting competitive iron down range again?)
We welcomed three first time 100yd BR shooters: Joe Bautz, Mark Farris, and Arne Moilanen, and three from last season shooting their first matches of this season: Ted Cadman, George Phillips, and Terry Steward. Hopefully they will be able to work next season’s matches into their schedules (mark your calendars, the first match of the 2015-2016 season will be held on Sat Nov 21, 2015).
As match director, I offer my thanks to all who helped in the set-up, take-dowm, clean-up, scoring, spotting, and all the other tasks it takes to put on a successful match. Most of all, thanks to all who showed up to shoot. You are what makes this all worth while.
